An APT Booklet In Arabic

As a result of a two weeks training workshop in APT in Lebanon at the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Foundation - Habilitation Preschool, a booklet was published. The workshop took place in June 2000.

The intention of the booklet is to act as a reference to all who work and care for children with disabilities. Its title "Applying the APT in designing and Manufacturing Aids for Children With Disabilities".

The Language is Arabic. Simple layman words and sentences are the text's feature to secure it's accessibility to anyone interested, even with minimal knowledge of disability. The booklet is heavily illustrated with real life photos of the workshop, drawing from the APT manual by Bevill Packer, and personal drawing and descriptions.

Information is divided into three sections.

1. A description of the APT technique.
2. How to take a child's measurement in the postural positions, standing and sitting, and what sections are essential for the manufacturing of each type of equipment.
3. How to apply these measurements and execute an aid for the child.

For the measurements and execution, a thorough description of a certain positions and various aids were used. The aim is to give a general idea about the execution process so that it will become a general guideline.

Although it is a booklet with most basic information, it includes all necessary information that an interested Arabic speaking person can benefit from to learn about a low cost technique for the manufacturing of aids for children with disabilities.
